My days are divided between motherhood and teaching and I have little time in the studio. When I do go to the studio, the small amount of time forces me to stay busy and focused on the particular task at hand. I see this time in my life as making small batches of work. I am often filling custom orders, but when I'm not filling orders, my time is spent exploring new forms and surface designs to incorporate into my cohesive body of work.
Most of my work is wheel thrown and I use a variety of different clay bodies. I most frequently fire to Cone 6 in an electric kiln and occasionally make work for wood firing.
All of my work is intended to be used and the glazes are food safe, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
